Clearly having an employee ID badge serve the facility and computer access control needs is efficient, and the least costly alternative  available.  As an added benefit, it relieves frustration and privacy concerns associated with other alternatives. For proximity cards and proximity readers.

Approach 1: iCLASS No-Software Required

This approach yields the highest security at the least expense. The iCLASS card is securely enrolled with the user’s credential script which includes the username, password and the keystrokes necessary to interface to any operating system or application. This enrollment may be done by the admin or user. This low cost, low maintenance solution is perfect for all environments supporting USB, including  thin clients!  All without external software.

At the logon prompt, the user simply waves their iCLASS card  and the AIR ID Playback reader fills in the username and password fields for you. You can then have the reader add a 'ENTER' or TAB key to complete the process. The Playback reader is configurable allowing multiple user credentials and other user-centric data such as mag-stripes to be read from different locations within the iCLASS card.

If you need to lock or log-off the session when a user steps away, our pcProx-Sonar will secure the session everytime the user leaves the station!

Usage 1: Single-factor authentication

Similar to building access, the iCLASS credential contains the entire username and password.

or ...

Usage 2: Two-Factor Authentication

For increased security, couple the iCLASS credential with a user supplied PIN for a secure two-factor authentication system.

Cost Advantages Gained When Using Exisitng Proximity ID badges for Meeting HIPAA requirements.

Approach 2: Prox Cards No-Software Required

Using this approach, the unique number in the proximity card becomes either part of all of the password required by the operating system.  This low cost, low maintenance solution is perfect for all environments supporting USB, including  thin clients!  All without external software.

At the logon prompt, the user simply waves their proximity card  and the pcProx USB fills in the password field for you. You can then have the reader add a 'ENTER' or TAB key to complete the process.

If you need to lock or log-off the session when a user steps away, our pcProx-Sonar will secure the session everytime the user leaves the station!

Usage 1: Single-factor authentication

Similar to building  access, the number in the proximity card is the entire password.

Usage 2: Two-Factor Authentication

For increased security, couple the proximity card number with a 4  character PIN (supplied by the user) for a secure two-factor authentication system.
