Converters

Wiegand data is the predominant data used in building access control systems.  Nearly all wall/door mountable readers output their data in Wiegand format.  This line of Wiegand data converters allow the existing Wiegand output readers to be placed on other non-wiegand systems such as PCs, PLC, and other embedded systems. This technology is useful since it allows the the building access cards to solve various other identification and access needs throughout the organization. We offer data conversion to/from Wiegand in several different form factors. Presence Detection

pcProx Sonar Presence detector

Another variation in the prox technologies is our sonar-based presence detection. This is not a badge or card reader, but rather it is utilized to detect the presence of a person. Sonar is a very accurate distance detection capable of offering read ranges of 5 in. to 5 ft.  This offers a handsfree solution to auto-locking PCs, embedded systems and manufacturing systems based of when the user leaves the area.

FS2TM Flashed Solutions

Most of the readers manufactured at RF IDeas offer out-of-the-box solutions by utilizing our plug/play technologies. Our FS2 plug/play readers and converters adapt to existing computer and embedded platforms through our powerful configurable flash technology. In this technology, software is utilized to configure the readers/converters however no software is deployed. This greatly reduces the total cost of ownership. Solutions for manufacturing, time/attendance, application or system level log-on and log-out, point-of-sale, and more are readily available.

Software Developer Kits

Most of the readers manufactured at RF IDeas offer a software developer kit (SDK). SDKs for our readers and converters include source code in VB and C++.  Complete control over the reader/converter and flash memory is supported.
