13.56 mHz Contactless Readers
Contactless smartcards are a passive (no power), read/write RFID technology operating at 13.56MHz. The technology was introduced in the late 1990s as un upgrade to proximity due to the chip memory available to store data, log-on credentials, biometric templates, e-purse and more. Contactless smartcard is available in HID iClass and Mifare brands. RF IDeas manufactures USB and serial contactless readers used for any computer based access or identification system.
