The smallest reader in the WAVE ID® reader portfolio is ideal for use in laptops, tablets and other mobile devices featuring USB-C ports. The WAVE ID Nano USB-C reader serves the needs of users with newer devices and is a future-ready choice for enterprise-wide security with the rise of USB-C as the ubiquitous, most compact and versatile standard for power and data connectivity.
The WAVE ID Nano USB-C features an over-molded construction that enables compliance with select MIL-STD-810 requirements. It is built to resist extremes of altitude, temperature, humidity, dust, vibration, shock and freeze/thaw cycles. This resilience makes it perfect for first responders as well as for any mobile worker who needs rugged reliability in challenging environments.
The new reader easily integrates into existing 125 kHz proximity or 13.56 MHz contactless smart card systems and is compatible with most credential types in use worldwide. Inserted into an available USB-C port, its low-profile design is unobtrusive to the user and does not interfere with other ports, the way larger, dongle-style readers can. It can also be embedded within housings or keyboards, minimizing the hardware required for an integrated access control solution.
