SDK readers use the Universal SDK DLL Integrated into third-party software applications to send raw card data when polled by the application.
A USB communication protocol that allows the reader to act as a human-interface device, automatically keystroking card data as if entering it through a physical keyboard.
An industry-standard protocol that enables a smart card reader to connect to a computer via the USB interface, enabling plug-and-play reader setup.
The WAVE ID family of readers works with nearly every 125/132 kHz proximity card and 13.56 MHz contactless smart card in use worldwide, with many models that support both card types simultaneously.
WAVE ID Mobile readers incorporate Bluetooth Low Energy technology for use with the industry's leading mobile credentials, including Orange, Safetrust, HID and Datasec. WAVE ID Bio readers offer the ability to read fingerprints. Both of these readers also work with proximity and contactless smart cards, so they're ideal for implementing multi-factor authentication in a single device.
Many of our readers are also ready to support FIDO2, the passwordless authentication standard designed to work seamlessly across credential types, devices, platforms and browsers. Because WAVE ID readers are backward compatible, you can enable existing users to add FIDO2 to their authentication systems without disruption.
