CHICAGO, IL – rf IDEAS, a global manufacturer of RFID credential readers, has received its fourth certification from Apple for its WAVE ID® products to work with employee badges and student IDs in the Apple Wallet, enabling users to simply use their phones to securely access facilities. This announcement builds on rf IDEAS’ previous WAVE ID certification, expanding support for digital wallet credential support.
This certification enables rf IDEAS’ WAVE ID readers to pass Wavelynx-managed credential data to workforce identity and access management applications, like single sign-on, secure print, and visitor management. Unlike most generic card readers, WAVE ID enables these credentials to be stored in Apple Wallet, passing the data through the reader directly to the applications. This marks a significant step in establishing mobile credentials as the default method of logical access control.
